Project Simplify:: The Master Bedroom

 A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was being ruthless in the 'declutter department' and that I was on a mission to simplify our home. Well, the first room is done. The Master Bedroom.

Let's take a quick tour of the room.

I updated our bedlinen to this blue polka dotted linen found here and these sweet talking pillow cases (here). The room makes me smile now. It's a little bit of fun and a little bit of happy all mixed together. We will be replacing our bed with this one down the track too.

 On Tim's side of the bed is the home phone and remote. I have emptied the bedside draws completely as there was nothing in there that needed to be in the bedroom. My plan is to see what ends up in here now and then work around organising each draw seperately. They might even stay empty.

On my side of the bed is Hunter's gro egg (it lets me know the temperature of the room) and my jewellery holder. The plug that is sitting on the side of my table is Hunter's breathing monitor for night time sleeps. My bedside draws are also completely empty.

 On the wall opposite our bed is the TV, which we often use to have movie nights in bed as a family. My plan is to eventually frame the TV, add a mantle underneath it and a fireplace down below like this

And to finish, some different views of the room.

The back corner -

The side wall - We are going to remove those hooks and then re-paint the room. I'm thinking of standing this mirror on the middle section of the wall so that we have a long mirror for checking outfits (without having to go into the boys room).

 Looking from our room into the playroom.

That's it - our Master Bedroom decluttered and simplified. It feels good. Next on the list is our walk in robe. Has anyone else been decluttering? I'd love to see some photos of your hard work too. Before and Afters are the best!

  1. Your room looks fantastic. Did you have any chest of drawers in your room before you decluttered?
    We have a 5 piece bedroom set and I wish we could remove our long dresser with mirror as we hardly use it but my husband likes it the way it is.

    1. Hi Emma,
      We haven't had a chest of draws on our room for a while now. Our clothes are in the wardrobe and the mirrors in our ensuite.

      We try and keep it as simple as possible.
