We have one too many Christmas traditions in our house - if there is such a thing!
First we have our Christmas Eve boxes - a cute tradition that gets us excited about Christmas the next day.
Next, our advent calendar activities - filled with random acts of kindness. Our favourites every year are delivering balloons to the children's ward, paying for someone's order behind us and leaving a gift card on someone's windscreen. This year we also added treating our local policemen and taking flowers to an old age home. We'll keep them next year - they were fun!
Elfie - dear, dear Elfie! Getting up to mischief every day leading up to Christmas. This is our third year of the Elf.
And then there are stocking stuffers! Every year Tim buys the presents for the boy's stockings. I adore this tradition more than I can put into words. I do ALL the rest of the Christmas shopping so it's just lovely to see what he chooses for both of them.
Here are his picks for our 4 year old this year (minus the activity pad and wooden trucks/transformers that I slipped in).
And our one year old's stocking stuffers (minus the memory game and trucks that I snuck in)
Other traditions include:
- Having a hot chocolate in the dark with the Christmas tree lights on, on Christmas Eve.
- Our Christmas light looking adventures each year.
- Our Christmas morning routine of waking up super early and getting ready before the kids wake up.
So there you have it a couple of our Christmas traditions - what are your favourite family traditions?
