Every year on New Year's Day we start by setting our goals for the year. We discuss our financial goals, plans for our home renovations as well as plans for our family (personal goals as well as holidays etc).
Here is a link to a more in-depth post about how we set our goals.
These were our goals for the house in 2014 and this is what we achieved..
2. Finish the laundry
5. Install the air con in the playroom.
6. Fix the bathroom shower.
7. Install an outdoor screen for the projector.
9. Install plantation blinds in the lounge.
10. Look at a new bed for the bedroom.
We had the cinema carpet redone (it was red when we purchased the house).
The clock was purchased for above the mantel - since then the mantel has moved into the bedroom and the lounge has become a work in progress.
And we purchased our outdoor setting and BBQ.
Although we didn't get everyone on our list done - we made much more progress than we had imagined by completing renovations that were not on our list.
We installed a little timber deck that ran off our outdoor area (you can see it in the picture above).
We renovated the kitchen (this was a dream come true for us!)
We converted the second half of our garage into a new playroom for the boys.
We bought a second hand cubby house for Hunter and renovated it.
And we installed an in ground trampoline (which you can see in the back of this photo).
It really is crazy when you look back over a year and see what you have achieved.
Our list of house goals for 2015 are:
1. Install plantation blinds in the lounge.
2. Install outdoor screen.
3. Buy pendants for dining room.
4. Install playroom aircon.
5. Fix Bathroom shower.
6. Purchase new bed for bedroom.
7. Plant herb garden.
8. Finish Laundry
9. Renovate lounge room.
10. Install skylight in kitchen.
11. Possible sound system install.
If we complete 4 out of that list of 11 again this year - I'll be stoked!
Do you put a list of things you would like to work towards together for the new year? If you completed renovations in 2014 I'd love to see pictures. You know I'm a sucker for any renovation ha!
